Bally’s break ground this week on Chicago’s first permanent casino

Bally’s is set to break ground this week (08/26 through 08/30) on Chicago’s first permanent casino. The Bally’s Chicago casino will be the largest in the state, with 3,300 slots, 173 table games, an outdoor music venue, a 3,000-seat entertainment center, a 500-room hotel tower, and a two-acre public park.

Mark Wong, Bally’s Chicago general manager, issued a statement rebutting critics: “Our commitment to this project has never wavered, and we are on track for a September 2026 opening.”

Bally plans to take possession of the River West site at 777 W. Chicago Ave.
