Jacksonville, FL - Paysafe, a 25-year-old company with its global headquarters in London, is set to bring around 600 jobs to the area.

At a news conference Monday at the JAX Chamber headquarters, Paysafe said some jobs would be created, and some employees would transfer from other offices. In addition, Paysafe CEO Bruce Lowthers said the company is in negotiations for office space.

City and state officials and business leaders gathered at JAX Chamber headquarters downtown on Monday afternoon to head for the announcement. Those on hand for the information included:

  • Florida Department of Economic Opportunity Secretary Dane Eagle
  • Florida Deputy Secretary of Commerce Laura DiBella
  • Jacksonville city officials
  • JAX Chamber Chair Ray Driver
  • JAX Chamber President and CEO Daniel Davis

Paysafe offers a variety of payment solutions, including a prepaid payment that lets customers without credit card payments online and other e-commerce products. The 25-year-old company processes more than $120 billion in costs annually, has $1.5 billion in revenue, and has offices in a dozen countries.

The company plans to request incentives from the city and state, although details have not been noted. Legislation for the incentive package is expected to be filed soon to have it through the City Council by the end of 2023.

The move will consolidate a workforce that is now scattered across the continent, CEO Bruce Lowthers said, with the largest concentration in Houston and Montreal.

"This was a very natural place for us to land," he said during the announcement to a packed room at the JaxChamber offices. "We had offices all around the U.S., and we wanted to centralize in a place that could feed our business goal."
