DISNEY WORLD IS NOW OPEN! Everyone has to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. No hopping between parks is allowed, for the time being, and visitors will need reservations to enter.

Despite a huge surge of Floridians testing positive for the new coronavirus in recent weeks, two of Disney World's four parks are reopening Saturday. When they do, visitors to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” will find new rules in place.

During the latest Disney Twitter video, masked crew members thoroughly clean the park and go over new social distancing protocols, Disney's mission to prioritize the "well-being of our guests and cast members," the company wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

The theme park has also announced that beginning Thursday it will resume ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel bookings for this year. "Guests will soon be able to purchase new tickets and plan future visits throughout this year with the Disney Park Pass system, which we are using to help manage attendance during this reopening period,"  Avery Maehrer, manager of communications at Walt Disney World Resort

Note: Disney World announced in late May that it would reopen it's Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11, followed by Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios on July 15.

"I have no doubt it’s going to be a safe environment," Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday at a news conference.
