The Moulin Rouge Musical finally had its sensual and confetti-laden opening for all Broadway enthusiasts. A salute to “Cabaret” that our troubles will disappear and everyone is welcome.

From the moment the audience enters the Nederlander Theatre, the stage is engrossed in light glittery red that sparkles with sensual performers already in place moving almost identically. At the same time, a lit-up churning windmill is offstage upper left, a purple elephant to its upper right, and A red neon “Moulin Rouge” sign reminds us we have been transported in time.

The musical is set in Paris, France, and tells the story of composer Christian, who falls in love with Satine, the Moulin Rouge Cabaret club star. The tale is told through various classic tunes made famous by artists through the decades.

"Moulin Rouge! The Musical" is truly a celebration of song and includes pop songs by the likes of artists from Elton John and David Bowie to Lady Gaga and Beyonce. A wonderful mix of contemporary styles.

LOVE, LAUGHTER, BEAUTY, AND MORE! This production generates pure raw emotion and passion that resonates from the stage to the audience. It is a fun, stopping, heart thumping, and emotional experience—a must-see.
