Say what? Qatar unveils new stadium with shipping containers for 2022 World Cup.

It is the first “fully demountable” stadium in World Cup history, thanks to its modular steel creation. The design implements disused shipping containers, reflecting Qatar’s maritime history and the stadium’s proximity to Doha Port.

Unlike other stadia built for the Qatar World Cup, Stadium 974 does not have air conditioning. Instead, the design allows for natural ventilation through the gaps in its structure, with breezes coming in due to its proximity to the sea.

Once the cup its over, it will be dismantled and moved.
