Invitations have been sent to Canada, the NAIA and NCAA. Eight teams ultimately will be chosen for the 2018 edition and be crowned champions hosting the Prof. Julio Mazzei Trophy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_465\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-465\" style=\"width: 1424px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-465\" src=\"https:\/\/tridence.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/08\/wcsc-trophy-david-vega.jpg?resize=640%2C647\" alt=\"WCSC-Trophy-David-Vega -Jacksonville-and-Chicago\" width=\"640\" height=\"647\" title=\"\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-465\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">David Vega - Jacksonville Florida and Chicago Illinois hosting the Prof. Julio Mazzei Trophy<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Comalander Stadium and Heroes Stadium will be the tournament\u2019s venues, with Heroes hosting the final. Additionally, the stadiums will have the <a href=\"http:\/\/wcsc.soccer\/pre-collegiate-youth-tournament\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Pre-Collegiate Soccer Championship Showcase<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/wcsc.soccer\/club-collegiate-soccer-world-championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Collegiate Club Championship Showcase<\/a>, which San Antonio Sports expects to attract a total of more than 340 teams.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment\">\u201cWe look forward to many years of partnering with San Antonio Sports and the city of San Antonio, as well as welcoming many visitors to the state of Texas,\u201d said\u00a0<strong>Robert Azar<\/strong>, executive director of the World Collegiate Soccer Championship, in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitsanantonio.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visit San Antonio<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sanantoniotourism.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Antonio Tourism Council<\/a> were also involved in the effort to bring the championship event to the Alamo City. The 2018 matches will be part of the city\u2019s official Tricentennial celebration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment\">The tournament is projected to produce more than $13 million in annual economic impact for the Greater San Antonio area, according to a study done by Steven R.
