Financial terms weren\u2019t disclosed, but industry sources told\u00a0<em>the deal is a revenue-sharing agreement that promises MLB roughly $100 million annually<\/em> over five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SeatGeek was founded in 2009 and is valued at $1.2 billion, according to PitchBook. In August 2022, the company raised a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20220831005295\/en\/SeatGeek-Raises-238-Million-in-New-Funding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0$238 million Series E\u00a0<\/a>from investors, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/video\/6320413767112\/utah-jazz-owner-ryan-smith-talk-nba-allstar-game-250-million-impact\/?sh=7985ae243daf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Utah Jazz billionaire Ryan Smith<\/a>. In June, SeatGeek and blank-check firm RedBall Acquisition Corp. terminated a $1.35 billion agreement to go public amid a tumultuous financial market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SeatGeek makes its money from transaction fees. The agreement with MLB adds to the company\u2019s sports portfolio. It includes the NFL\u2019s Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and Washington Commanders.\u00a0Forbes\u00a0reported that SeatGeek is paying the Commanders\u00a0$10 million to $12 million\u00a0annually for four years. Also, SeatGeek landed a significant partner in collegiate sports ticketing giant Paciolan for its secondary rights. That deal starts in July.
