{"id":3032,"date":"2023-01-10T09:30:32","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T09:30:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tridence.com\/blog\/?p=3032"},"modified":"2023-01-10T09:50:20","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T09:50:20","slug":"the-worlds-first-robot-lawyer-will-take-a-case-in-court-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tridence.com\/blog\/the-worlds-first-robot-lawyer-will-take-a-case-in-court-next-month\/","title":{"rendered":"The \u201cworld\u2019s first robot lawyer\u201d will take a case in court next month"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A (A.I.) startup called <strong>DoNotPay<\/strong> has created what it claims to be the world's first robot lawyer, and it will be put to the test next month in an unprecedented court case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AI legal assistant, which runs on a smartphone, will listen to court arguments in real-time before instructing the defendant on how to respond via headphones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case is said to involve a traffic ticket, but the exact location and details of the case have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the company's founder and CEO, Joshua Browder, a Stanford University-educated computer scientist, DoNotPay originally launched in 2015 as a chatbot that provided legal advice to consumers dealing with late fees or fines, but it pivoted to AI in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Browder stated that it took a long time to train the AI assistant on case law covering a wide array of topics and to ensure that the app adhered to the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He went on to say that his ultimate goal is to have the app replace some lawyers altogether in order to save defendants money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to assisting in a court of law, DoNotPay promises to allow users to \"fight corporations, beat bureaucracy, and sue anyone at the press of a button.\" If the defendant loses the case, DoNotPay has agreed to cover any fines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Need a lawyer?
