This newly incorporated shopping venture makes roughly 100,000 donated items available online and expands Goodwill\u2019s internet presence limited to auction sites like <a href=\"http:\/\/shopgoodwill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ShopGoodwill.com<\/a> or individual stores selling donations online via eBay and Amazon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GoodwillFinds\u2019 goal is to have 1 million items on its site in a few years, said Matthew Kannes, newly appointed CEO of the online shopping arm, which features search tools that let shoppers browse by category. Eventually, GoodwillFinds can be personalized based on a customer\u2019s past purchases. GoodwillFinds is separate from Goodwill Industries International Inc. Still; it will support the larger organization by helping fund its community-based programs across the U.S. to provide professional training, job placement, and youth mentorship. It should also increase donations while helping expand its customer base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike rivals like Threadup and Poshmark, customers cannot use GoodwillFinds to make donations and will still have to visit one of the organization\u2019s 3,300 U.S. and Canadian Goodwill stores to drop them off \u2014 for now.
